The Palmetto Ridge High School Band Program is located in Naples, Florida. Performing ensembles include: Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Jazz Band 1, Jazz Band 2, Auxiliary Team, Varsity Guard, JV Guard, and Competitive Dance. In the fall, all of these groups combine to form the Marching Pride.

2024-2025 Marching Pride Officer Applications are due by 5:00pm on Friday, May 3rd. This week’s Marching Pride Student Recognition goes top scoring students from last week’s concert band placement auditions. Anthony Ferrer, Julian Guerra, Olivia Jones, Hunter Scott, Henry Strom (brass), Lynn Lejean, Adam Mosley, Jovany Osorio-Vasquez, Sebastian Rodriguez, Cleyra Treto-Aleman (woodwinds). We’d also like to recognize and thank our Auxiliary Team for having the most school spirit by having the highest participation in Kindness Week. Thank you auxiliary! This Week’s Schedule: Monday (4/29)
State Concert Band MPA (Mon. 4/29): Wind Ensemble is performing at State Concert Band MPA on Monday, April 29th at Broward College. Call time is 12:00pm. We will stop at the Sawgrass Mill Mall to eat an early dinner. We must be seated at Broward College by 5:15pm. Our performance time is 7:30pm. The approximate return to PRHS is 10:00pm. Palmetto Elementary FAST Testing Pep Rally (Tues. 4/30): Select students will perform for Palmetto Elementary on Tuesday, April 30th. Students will meet Mr. Claro at PES by 1:45pm. Band students will wear this year’s gray band t-shirt with neutral-colored bottoms and gym shoes. Auxiliary students will wear this year’s indoor t-shirt with neutral-colored bottoms and gym shoes. Students will be done by 2:45pm. Spring Band Concert Rehearsals: Our Spring Band Concert will be on Thursday, May 9th. After school rehearsals will start on May 1st. Wind Symphony will rehearse on Wednesday, May 1st from 2:15-3:15pm. Symphonic Winds will rehearse on Thursday, May 2nd from 2:15-3:15pm. Wind Ensemble will rehearse on Thursday, May 2nd from 3:15-4:15pm. All concert bands will rehearse on Wednesday, May 8th. Wind Symphony will go from 2:15-3:15pm, Symphonic Winds will go from 3:15-4:15pm, and Wind Ensemble will rehearse from 4:15-5:15pm. These dates have been added to the band calendar. Drum Major Workshops & Officer Applications: We are holding Drum Major Workshops on Wednesday, April 24th, Wednesday, May 1st, and Monday, May 6th. These workshops are for all who want to attend. Students who are applying for a section leader or captain position are strongly encouraged to attend as the first half of the workshop will include leadership discussions. Students who are interested in applying for any officer position for the 2024-2025 school year will be invited to the Marching Pride Officer Canvas Page on Wednesday. Officer applications will be due by 5:00pm on Friday, May 3rd. 2024-2025 Marching Pride Auxiliary Auditions: Auxiliary Auditions for the 2024-2025 season are on May 7, 8, and 10. Interested students should complete the online registration with the provided QR code prior to auditions. New members will wear a white shirt, returning members will wear a black shirt (no crop tops, sports bras etc.) and both will wear black bottoms. Shorts must be worn with tights or spandex underneath. Spandex only is not allowed. Wear gym shoes or dance shoes. Hair must be pulled back. Please do not wear hanging jewelry (necklace, hanging earrings/hoops, bracelets/smart watches). Don’t forget to email Mrs. Magdaleno your headshot if you have not already done so. 2024 Band Awards Banquet RSVP (Due by Mon. 5/6): Our Band Awards Banquet is on Thursday, May 16th. Please RSVP by 2:00pm on Monday, May 6th at https://forms.gle/FQwzUoQCajUMTtRq8. The banquet will start with dinner for the students at 5:00pm. Awards will start at 6:00pm in the auditorium and last until about 8:00pm. We hope to provide the students with a dance in the cafeteria from 8:00-10:00pm. The dinner and dance portion is only for current students and is at no cost. All parents, family, and friends are invited to the awards ceremony in the auditorium. Attire for students range from casual to semi-formal. Band Booster Senior Scholarship Applications (Due Wed. 5/8): Our Band Boosters are offering 2 senior scholarship awards, the Daileen Alfonso Scholarship Award, and the Julie Ann Johnson Scholarship Award. These awards will be presented at the Band Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 16th. Students who are interested in applying must complete the online application and essay by 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 8th. More information is posted on the band website under the “Students” tab. Marching Pride Scholarships (Due Wed. 5/8): This year our Band Boosters have received another very generous donation to be put towards scholarship opportunities for our current members. These are not annual awards, and these will not be offered next year. We hope to offer 2 additional senior scholarships and up to 6 scholarships for returning members who plan on attending a summer music camp. Students who are interested in applying must complete the online application and essay by 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 8th. More information is posted on the band website under the “Students” tab. RaiseRight Fundraiser: Don’t forget that the Band Boosters are holding a RaiseRight competition until April 28th! The Band Boosters will give out 3 Amazon gift cards to the 3 families that have the most gift card purchases from April 7th through April 28th. First place will win $75, second $50, and third $25! You can order through the website RaiseRight.com or download the Raise Right app from the App Store, the app is very user friendly and convenient. The Palmetto Ridge Band Program serves approximately 180 students. The primary goal of the program is to develop the musicianship and performance skills of each student. Students are held to a high standard and are expected to have good work ethic. The band PRIDES itself on emphasizing its four virtues: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, and Dedication to Excellence.
